Overview
As Founding Designer at Reno, LLC, you will be a legacy creative leader, entrusted with shaping the company’s visual identity and user experience from the ground up. You will operate with full ownership over design decisions, working independently with some guidance from Operations, and sharing final deliverables to both co-founders.
This role is designed to be milestone-based, respecting your concurrent full-time role at another company. We value your flexibility and creativity and trust your ability to deliver high-quality assets on a timeline that works for you.
Responsibilities
● Lead the design and creative execution for all Reno core assets, including:
○ Landing page
○ Intake forms
○ Homeowner dashboard & project experience
○ Brand identity
○ Advertisements
○ Application mockups for future use
● Own the end-to-end design process from concept through delivery, collaborating closely with co-founders on goals, priorities, and timelines.
● Exercise full creative control over design decisions, while aligning with Reno’s brand strategy.
● Deliver completed assets for all co-founders to review & agree on.
● Participate in defining the visual and experiential standards.
● Remain actively involved in shaping post-MVP initiatives, including future design iterations, product expansion concepts, and creative strategy.
● Contribute to long-term design planning and potentially lead future design hires or contractor partnerships as the team grows.
● Maintain strict separation from any concurrent full-time employer responsibilities, including time, devices, software, or proprietary knowledge.
Working Style
● You will work independently, managing your workflow around your full-time role.
● You will strictly adhere to your concurrent employer’s moonlighting policy and use only personal devices, time, and tools for all Reno-related work.
● Intermediate updates are welcomed, and can help ensure a tight feedback loop, but are not required.
● Paul will provide operational context and briefs, but you hold full creative ownership.
● Final assets will be reviewed with both co-founders before publication.
IP & Ownership
All assets you produce for Reno are work-for-equity contributions. You agree to assign all rights and ownership of designs, materials, and creative work to Reno, and treat company documents, plans, and communications as confidential. Both a Standard NDA and an IP Agreement will be presented as formal documents to affirm this.
