We are Ontario\u00e2\u0080\u0099s premier utility contractor and are ready to become Canada\u00e2\u0080\u0099s #1 utility construction provider.<\/p>\n<p>Reporting to the Locates Supervisor, the Utility and Private Utility Locator will be responsible for performing utility locates for gas, electricity, telecommunications, water and sewers.<strong> Please note that this position is unionized, therefore it will be a requirement to join the union upon acceptance. <\/p>\n<p><\/strong>The areas of service include Ottawa and Cambridge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What You&#8217;ll Do Here<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Safely locate underground utilities accurately using utility record systems and electronic locating equipment. <\/li>\n<li> Field mark and document utility locates using locate work management software, and following prescribed documentation procedures. <\/li>\n<li> Complete locate requests assigned by Foreperson\/Coordinator\/Superintendent accurately and in a timely manner. <\/li>\n<li> Understand and utilize infrastructure records in planning\/completing utility locates. <\/li>\n<li> Safely operate a company provided vehicle including planning the travel to\/from work sites. <\/li>\n<li> Work (as assigned) as a member of locate project teams. <\/li>\n<li> Communicate with Superintendent, Foreman, Coordinator and Client contacts (both internal and external to Aecon) &#8211; verbal, email, etc. <\/li>\n<li> Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\n<p><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What You Bring To The Team<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Valid Ontario (G) Driver\u00e2\u0080\u0099s License and clean drivers record. <\/li>\n<li> Self-motivated with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. <\/li>\n<li> Ability to work independently and stay productive under minimal supervision. <\/li>\n<li> Ability to work long hours when required to meet deadlines. <\/li>\n<li> Ability to work accurately and problem solve under pressure. <\/li>\n<li> Ability to prioritize tasks and work to timelines. <\/li>\n<li> Ability to interact with customers in a professional manner. <\/li>\n<li> Strong computer skills \u00e2\u0080\u0093 Work management software, Email, MS Excel, MS Word. <\/li>\n<li> Experience with public locates, private locates, pre-engineering locates and Vital Main Integrity (gas distribution third party observation) considered an asset. <\/li>\n<li> Prior construction experience is considered an asset. <\/li>\n<li> DPT Certification is considered a strong asset.\n<p><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Reason for Vacancy: New<\/p>\n<p>Pay Range: $29 &#8211; $39 per hour as per the current Collective Agreement.<\/p>\n<p>Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
